Mackreth showed glimpses of what he is capable of towards the end of last season, and off the bench against Eastleigh.

A good footballer, and maybe given a fresh chance with Sam, could be an option.

Mackreth was rotten last season and in no way, shape or form should he play for us again.

My main concern, though, is that if he does sign for us, then that would say a lot about our ability to sign good players. However I am sure that is not the case.

Ricketts probably liked what he saw in the Dagenham game from Mackreth, he caused them no end of problems that day, so probably feels it's worth seeing him in pre season. Of course we know he was garbage most of the season!

After Ricketts' comments about Luke Young being a player that likes to get the ball wide, Mackreth may find it easier to have an impact on games as he did against Eastleigh at home where we kept finding him with long diagonal passes.
