Foxy I thought your post was going to be about if the dreaded lurgy returns when the players are travelling to Maidenhead.

As an ex primary school teacher who has been on many a school trip I can remember a couple of journeys where some poor kid has chundered and set off a chain reaction of spewing. Not for the faint hearted I can tell you!

Unfortunately as I find is so often the case with RP I have no valid or useful opinion to offer on your original post though sorry

I won the director for a day competition a few years ago. Aldershot away under Morrell

We picked up a few players on the way. Most of the youngsters were given jobs like making the tea etc.

We stopped at Reading FC for an hour so the players could stretch their legs and have a quick training session.

Then stayed in a hotel over night. All the coaching staff on onetable and the players on another.

on the way to ground the coaching staff scouted a fish n chip shop that would deliver food to the coach after the game.

After the game Aldershot actually gave the team pizzas too. Morrell said that the team didnt deserve both so only gave them the fish and chips while the coaching staff and us ate some pizza.



We lost 2-0.

My Aunt used to visit the cathedral in town on a Saturday afternoon so dropped me off at my cathedral. On the way to the game from Holywell we used always to look for moving hay which was a sign that we would win - as I recall it always worked.

However I also remember that the summers were long and every girl said yes so perhaps we should discount my memory as that was 50 years ago

I was on the team bus for an away game to Southport (2012/13)

I think more players got on near Merseyside than Wrexham!

At Wrexham, the coach was waiting on Chris Westwood who was running late. Geraint Parry tried phoning him but accidentally rang former player, Ashley Westwood who, seemed very confused when asked where he was.
