I'm just resigned to the fact I don't understand some people thought processes. Like how some people are suggesting we get rid of Deverdics now we've signed Burgess for 6 months. Yet these are the same people complaining our squad was too small.

Perhaps they think that everything they say is a statement of the obvious?

Mark Hughes used to be one of the very worst offenders in his earlier management days....
It’s an interesting point

I work with a number of people who have to speak to medium sized audiences or high level management (or both, at times) and when there is that pressure, or lack of true composure or confidence, an amateur psychologist believes that when someone frequently uses the terms ‘well fundamentally...’, ‘at the end of the day the reality is....’, ‘well obviously’...., etc, they’re usually subconsciously deploying defence mechanism where they can buy themselves an extra second or two, to think about what they actually want to say!

Phew....i’ll Catch my breath now!

I once during the World Cup 2010 decided to count the "erm's" in Steven Gerrards interviews at post match press conferences...the best was 41. Then a few years later, he was being interviewed on American TV and didn't utter a single One.
As for Keates, he inherited a shit side, so had to set them up not to lose, but weirdly he never changed his football ethos when he had a whole pre season to bring in his own players.

Obviously , the word "obviously " can be very irritating when over-used...obviously. My particular bugbear is people , and it seems to be mostly young people , who begin a reply to any question or query with the word "So".
What are your observations on today's game ? So .........
What subjects will you be studying at University? So .......
From which platform can I catch the train to Halifax? So .....

They’re subtle ways of allowing people a bit more time to speak and formulate a response.

It’s entirely plausible for anyone who isn’t media trained or comfortable in front of camera to use such words as “basically” and “erm”.

Regarding DK and SR it is far too early to draw too many firm conclusions about their progress in new jobs despite a good start in both cases.

DK is history but SR is the present so let us hope he goes on to deliver promotion after an excellent start by any standards.

Yes the thread needs moving,

I’m not sure why some want this thread moved, using that reasoning, then all threads related to ex players and managers would also need to be moved.

I personally think it’s of relevance to see how he’s doing as he started the rebuild of the current side. I was annoyed how he left when he did, but I’m over that now.
