As would most in this situation, but this is a ex premier league player we are talking about. When more money gets put on the table they will always go. Unfortunately loyalty is rare in football. And whilst we are in non league i don't see the point in appointing another rookie manager again, because any hint of potential success they will leave at the first chance.

I hope we don't mess about with the application process for weeks either, they should already be on the phone to Askey.

So he was at Barrow on Tuesday and took training on Friday and yet still had time to go on a course?

I don't know his financial situation. I would guess he has some money from playing days but it won't last forever.

id say £100,000 a year is the minimum to pay for a goal scorer in our league,£2,000 a week sounds low for goals, we have to start paying the going rateatleast, bet Bobby Grant is on £3,000 minimum, he looks quality and thats what we got to aspire to, we got the crowds and a bit put away

But he is in league 1. Can we afford league 1 wages?

I would be fairly happy with Askey too, as on paper he ticks the boxes.
However, it just concerns me that in recent history, when we've gone with the more experienced option with pedigree in this league, it hasn't worked out, i.e. Mills and Wilkin.

If Barrow wants the job and Jussi stays as GK coach then we have a vacancy for assistant. A playing assistant would be good IMO especially a midfield general
