I agree with Pagl that it is a society thing but that doesn't mean that it is to be dismissed on here. Whether it is dealt with or not it is still wrong and ignoring it just prolongs the agony . No use asking stewards to take action or taking the law into your own hands . You will get nowhere and probably a sore nose if you tackle the culpruit. A video of the person sent to the club would be best. Police will not pursue it without evidence.

Like I said, nobody mention it in future.

It can be confronted. Challenged a Rhyl fan believe it or not who was calling Dennis Lawrence the usual vile stuff. Suggested I brought Dennis over afterwards so he could say it to his face. Reminded him of Dennis' build, fitness as a footballer and previous life as a commando. Hinted that I knew him personally (I didn't) so could invite him. Shut the drunken forty year old nobody up big style. I was wearing a yellow coat at the time mind you.

Could the Club come up with a telephone number for fans to contact during home games? Any racist, homophobic behaviour could be reported during the game on a number.
Club could then make stewards/police aware of a possible issue at a certain location within the ground.
Arrival of said people in the location might stop such behaviour. Idiots would then realise that someone has reported it and setting up such a system would portray the Club in a positive manner re such incidents.

Was hoping for some more positive feedback on my prompts but not many good ideas coming out here. The only way to deal with this is to confront it and make the person feel small and guilty. These people are cowards and 99% of them will back down and apologise.
I work in a multi-culture company and we have zero tolerance on any racism, bullying etc.

As I said stop with the indignation and challenge.

I still think you should confront it there and then. I couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding (especially now at my age and state of (health) but I know I would say something if I heard it by me. It's nothing to do with being hard, it's to do with how much you believe it. I am no evangelist for political correctness but there are limits and people must have the courage of their convictions instead of saying it on here but then doing nothing.

So only post about it if you challenge it? I challenged it at a friendly in Aber a few years back and got started on. People don’t like doing it, maybe they feel intimidated like you said. Doesn’t mean they should just shut up and not post on a public forum.

I'm afraid racism is endemic, but can and should be confronted, as Bryan says. I don't know if anyone saw Gareth Thomas's documentary on racism and homophobia last year. He tried to get a response from the recently retired fatcat who ran the Premier League without success. He interviewed the world's highest paid union rep, is it Graham Kelly, who spouted the most banal platitudes to which Thomas's response was "Bollocks". He visited Cardiff City who have a zero tolerance of both and where a Newcastle fan was ejected after 13 mins. When the chief steward was asked if the do everything they can to prevent racism he said "I don't Know" Thomas said that this was the first honest comment on the issue that he had heard.

If fans want to make a difference then do something about it and stop the continuing bleating on here and being offended.

As I said its a society problem so does it really need a 'Racism at xyz place' every time. The fan who threw the smoke bomb was dealt with so if your offended by racist comments then go and sort it out.

People have to be careful though as I distinctly remember the Hyde away game where someone I know was accused of being a racist because he just happened to make an innocent comment to someone that was black about them being in the way and it wasn't racist in anyway, shape or form.
So you better have good evidence to back up your claim.
Fans should stop being so offended by *checks notes* racist chanting.

Proper brexit.
