Hopefully it's cost minimal to settle MN contract and would prefer him gone sooner rather than have him hanging around upsetting the apple cart. Sometimes it's worth to take the hit.
Will be interesting to see who BH brings in as number 2. From former players maybe Waynne Phillips, Morrell or even but unlikely Lee Jones. However BH did leave when he was 20 so may have another more experienced number 2 lined up. Interesting Flynn says he still has contact with BH who asks him for advice now and then woukd be good to have Flynn as an advisor or director of football role but can't see the little man being interested. After all everything he's built has been destroyed so why would he start again.
Really looking forward to this appointment or maybe it's just living my youth again trusting people who were my heros as a youth

can you share with us where that information has come from? neither have been sacked so we don't know what if anything the severance package is.

what would have been the cost of keeping them when the main man did not want to do the job? .... unquantifiable

We have just witnessed a catalogue of mistakes that can all be traced back to that 2.5 year Assistant Managers contract for Barrow, if that hadn't happened then we would have saved a lot time and money

* Barrow is given a 2.5 year assistant manager contract
* As a result it alienates potential managers who can no longer bring in their own man
* It forces the board into a corner where the only man they can give the job to is the assistant who openly said he doesn't want the job
* Barrow brings in his own choice of assistant on a another crazy 2.5 year deal
*Barrow decides after a few weeks that he was right all along and he in fact doesn't want the job and either leaves with nothing or a compromise agreement
* Newell has to be paid off to make way for a new man to come in

The above is a madness scene of events that did not need to happen. I said at the time that the Barrow 2.5 year assistant contract was spin from the board to silence us over the Ricketts to Shrews chapter and keep us all clapping in the same direction. "Loyalty" was the buzz word at the time and the board made a poor decision in trying to appease fans and avoid criticism.
Why of why did not they not just Barrow on his deal than ran to the season end, offer him acting up pay to take temporary charge of the team when SR left giving themselves plenty of time to go and get the right candidate.

Jeez this club gets a bit of money for the first time in forever and it all gets wasted on rectifying mistakes when it should have been spent on the players to get us of out this league.

he had a 2.5yr contract got to be on £700-£1000 a week, if hes settled for 1.25 of it your still looking at £65,000-£80,000 plus, the rate we are going Macron will have to take people on just to put initials on clothing for us

Id imagine over 100K + for the Barrow and Newell fiasco and that's not including the massive risk we have taken with Bryan Hughes coming in. So pretty much a good chunk of the Ward money that we may or may not have received.
