At board level, what is the obsession with Carl Darlington? We’ve achieved nothing since he’s been here. I just don’t get it. He’s part time, never played professionally and yet seems to command the utmost respect from decision makers at the club. Entertainment value is zero and has been since Gary Mills left.

I’ve got nothing personally against Carl at all.... I just wonder why he’s deemed so vital to any progress?

Doesnt sound right. MN was appointed to assist GB not BH.
Personally I think we expected to get DL but it went pear shaped and GB had no other route out as he didnt want to be manager. The board knew this and knew it very early and then panicked with a selection rather than open up the application process again. That seems to fit timeline better.

I think GB felt guilty about bringing in MN and then putting him in a difficult position. Hence, he thought it best to resign in a dignified manner.

That is my understanding of events, too. I do not think the Board were totally in control of events, and their situation was made worse by their initial decision to appoint Barrow when he originally did not want it.

After this BH wanted BF to mentor him, and he signed up part-time. Unsure if this arrangement will continue or whether it is best for BH and Wrexham AFC.

The allegations about CD's control are mounting; and rumours soon become fact. Someone in the WST needs to say they are bollox or correct a situation that should not have been allowed to happen.

The manager should dictate all things football; that is what he is employed to do. If he needs support, then the Board should support him. If he is not up to the job - jury is out on this - then the Board should not have appointed him or need to remove him from post asap.

I felt some sympathy for Barrow and I now have some sympathy for BH. But, ultimately, we are a professional football club in need of overhaul to be promoted back into the FL NEXT SEASON, not in 2 or 3 years time. Massive task that will need a lot of money and a lot of luck.

Failed to get DL on board and won a couple under Barrow.
Barrow liked winning (don't we all) and changed his mind over managing.
Took the job and got MN in to assist.
Lost a few, Realised that 24 / 7 job was not right for himself as he was too old too take the flack, told the board, through SH and said he'd stay 'till a new man was found.
FC board worked behind closed doors to avoid the inevitable fall out and appointed BH.
BH wanted Barrow to stay as No 2 but Barrow didn't want to be seen to dump MN as he'd brought him in. Barrow left of his own accord and the club alleviated MN of his responsibilities.
BH asked BF to help 'till end of season.
Going to be an interesting Summer. The type of players brought in will determine the style of play.

Interesting it certainly will be. As to the players brought in and the way we play IMO that will show how much sway Darlington really has. A fourth season of percentages hoofball will answer that one.

It looks like Hughes will need a new assistant as well, not that he had a discernable one so far.
