Instead of starting a new thread off and with the load of bollock on here at present I though I'd come in with this.
A few of weeks ago I had a holiday Crete and to cut a long story, I found myself in a pub called Wembley and to be fair it was the best pint of the week. From his interview, Barton was signed as a holding midfielder and BH has sold that to him. I think he will be used at CB for emergencies only.
I’m sure we’ll sign a RB and CB. And a forward once Fondop leaves.

I think you are right, we will play 433 with Barton holding midfield with the option to change when required to 343 or 442. BH did say the 343 may be useful getting at teams at home, then Barton is ideal as the 3rd CB with his ability on the ball. Therefore another CB in the squad could be useful, (but not desperate) particularly like for like with Pearson, whilst Manny is out, as we are ok for footballing cbs, with Lawlor, Tharme & Barton.

Grant also hinted that 433 works despite himself having a good game on Tuesday playing as a right sided number 10 behind the striker.

I'm starting to think BH is waiting for a loanee to fill the right back slot. It's all gone quiet about Jazzi B-Bobb so there were possible questions over his ability defensively as rb in a back 4 or his delivery, he certainly seemed capable of getting up and down the flank, perhaps better suited to wing back.

If you take everything we’ve heard as being true, which is dangerous in fairness, the club has got rid of a right back from a back four that didn’t let goals in, offered terms to someone to replace him, then withdrew those terms to trial someone else, and has then ended that trial and is now looking at a loan. Hopefully the reality isn’t like that, because that’s a bit muddled.

Or he's looking for a specific type of right back i.e. more attacking than Roberts/Carrington are and he's waiting to find the right one knowing Carrington can step in if needed should it take longer than anticipated.

I can't say I believe the scenario you describe in its entirety especially that we offered terms and then withdrew them. Probably just held talks more likely.

Just a guess. With BH leaving it late into pre-season to get rb sorted. It looks obviously he is looking for Jazzi B-Bobb type of attacking right back so either he has a target or is looking for a loanee that fits the role.
