One thing that could and should be done is stick to the philosophy that the managers spouted about quality and quantity.
Whilst the board cant dictate who the manager signs they should be stressing this approach.

In January we could have bid Tranmere for Tollitt and then looked at another 2 players max that would improve the team. But no we sign a player with a groin injury, a fat overweight unused reserve player, a player that showed no form or goals during his loan spell etc.
Add to that a claim we bid for Rowe in an attempt to lure him here, a bid that would be laughed at even on Dickinsons real deal - his scrap value was worth more that

Obviously there are no good players available in Jan so the barrel scraping seems justified.
I could name 3 NL north players better than what we had so why did we struggle - answers on a post card please.

If you say 1 thing and do another then is it a surprise it goes wrong?
Quality, quality, quality. 1 would have done if it improved the team.
