Re: CONFIRMED: Keates appointed
If we are to go by the bookies odds on managers in with a shout, then I will go with Keates... Only one interested me, Waddock was mentioned and had Aldershot playing good football but he is South based and any contacts have to be regional. Aside from that did he apply ?

Re: CONFIRMED: Keates appointed
I'm not being funny but did anyone actually expect anything different? It was clear and obvious as soon as Hughes left who was going to come in. It didn't matter who else was interested in the job.
He's cheap, and he'll be a yes man to the board and 1 day a week Darlington too. The board couldn't care less about what the fans wanted. We won't be doing nothint anytime soon, until we get a fresh approach in at the club. |

Re: CONFIRMED: Keates appointed
I think the club needs the wake up call of dropping in to League North
That will ensure the current set up will finally be seriously questioned and a clear out should lead to a short stay, playing new local teams in a team pushing for promotion. I would expect crowds of around 3,000 peaking at 5,000 for the run in. Wrexham are preceded by Stockport, York, Hereford, Torquay, Chester, Wimbledon and Darlington playing at this level. They all survived, so unless we are less of a club than those above, I'm hoping for relegation to instigate the changes required. On a selfish note, I plan a visit in 3 years time to see the Reds play all 46 games...please be back in conference by then.
