Before selecting a new manager we need to change our whole football ethos. I would like it to be that we develop youth players and play an attacking style of football. You then select a manager who can implement those ethos

Laudable objective but in the current climate almost impossible to achieve.
Bigger clubs can poach our better players with impunity and leave us with the odd youngster who struggles to make the bench.
We get no financial assistance from the league and the lads are now students. There is still a cost to the club with little or no reward for the effort put in.
Premier and League teams have seen to it that they are the only beneficiaries.
I'd love to see us invest in the youth system but until we can get the security that league football provides it's a non starter. Doesn't matter how much you spend it is probably money wasted and detrimental to the main objective, financing the first team.
Would also require a manager who is likely to promote the kids, which we haven't got.
Wholeheartedly agree about the football ethos and getting a manager to fit the bill but that again limits the field as most good managers want it done their way.

My problem with the current ownership and board is that the evidence says their main objective is NOT financing the first team. You only have to read the minutes of their meetings to see they are more interested in vanity projects and community activities than winning football matches.
Saturday was yet another match we had to win and failed to do so, and adopted tactics that almost ensured that would be the case, but Spencer was up and clapping like a demented seal at the end, so it obviously met his expectations.

Alas, this is the stone cold reality of where we are whilst outside the FL.

The Board don’t select the team or tactics; that is Keates’ role.

The issue is the Board have chosen managers seemingly on a whim, and they aren’t cutting the mustard.

Wow, says it all why we are falling like a stone. I’d be down stairs waiting for the managers press conference to finish and he’d be in for an explanation.

You can tell he’s from HR, soft as shite at running things. All major business have them advise to reduce loss/risk but not Wrexham fc we have them run the show. The gift that keeps on giving.

We need a manager who has the backing of the fans and will be afforded time.

Keates is the absolute opposite of that

i would be more than happy to give him a go

The next managerial appointment is massive, more of the same and hundreds more will turn their backs on the club and I don't blame them.
Lawrence is not the man to turn things around.

Keates will be allowed a summer of rebuilding so we are stuck with him till Christmas at least. That will make next season's ST sales figures interesting reading.
