Pearson hasn't been the same as he was in his first 2 seasons and has struggled with injuries and carrying knocks but he cant be blamed for last seasons woes. He was still a 7 or 8 most weeks. Last season there were were problems all over that were not addressed. BH's big signings Hooper and Redmond failed to produce and other than a few games when Horsefield was fit or when Carra was fit and free to play there, the right back slot was a weak link all season. The midfield was poor with Summerfield and Wright missing too many games and only Young showing any consistency.

We were a shambles in the first-half, and they outclassed us at times with some neat and quick passing.

Two quick goals and their tired legs killed them off. But we should be pleased with a 4-1 win regardless who the opposition are.

Thought Angus had a good game, but 5-3-2 sucks, IMHO.

Next Saturday will be tougher, and on a synthetic pitch. Best judge them after that.

Pearson like Harris is past his best. He shouldn't be captain next season if we are now this new richer, ambitious club.

Tempted to agree, half the stuff he tried didn't come off but the other half did. Finally a player who gets to the byline puts a quality cross in or applies a finish to score by cutting in from wide. Rutherford take note.

Davies is being asked to play a man's role in there, but if we can show a modicum of patience with him, the experience should prove highly beneficial to us going forward.
