Did he apply though? How would any of us know that? And is his contract up? Tranmere were told they would have to pay compensation when they rumored to be going for him this season. Which implies he has at least a year left.

Yup Hartlepool Mail says contract until end of 20-21 season. Compensation would be due but I wouldn't have thought it would put the new owners off if he is deemed to be the chosen one.
