Not long after as a young lad standing on the kop in snow surrounded by scousers as Liverpool gave us a beating. They never experienced the joys of the kop bogs as they peed where they stood at hallf time.
I was at both of those games. Didn't realise that the scousers had taken over the kop vs Liverpool. But they just said "Er eh wacker, yous'll be safe with us". That was the game when it was bloody freezing and some of the scousers came on the back of coal lorries.

And the pitch was like a beach covered in sand.

"Oh, oh, oh, it's magic!" blaring out over the tinny PA system in the mid-1970s.

And, do you know? It WAS in those days!!!

Leaning on "our" barrier, red and white scarf tied around it, but ready to duck under and stand in front of the barrier if there was any push from the back.

But best of all - a warm spring Saturday in 1978.

Wrexham 7 v 1 Rotherham.

Need I say more?

Moving from the front of the Kop terrace to the back and then standing in front of the kiosk as the years passed and we grew older.

The 70s and 80s saw a lot of trouble as some have mentioned, Portsmouth first visit was especially violent, the older lads held their ground on the kop but once outside at the end it was bedlam ( thank god those days are gone).

Like a lot of others standing with my Dad on the kop as a kid will be a memory I will cherish forever.

Lucky enough to have seen the best football any Wrexham team has ever played during the 70s and the stuff Flynn's team played was pretty good as well.
Hopefully my grandson will get a chance to watch great football from behind that goal sometime in the near future, my two sons have not been so lucky.

Standing 3 rows back from the left hand side of the goal where we usually 'tried' to stand. That barrier is now in my Pub in the garden. Watching the infamous Mansfield and Crystal Palace games. Looking to the left at the 'boys only' paddock, looking back to the Busfield stand. The second im not sure if it was quite the same era but there or there abouts. First game though was watching Wrexham play Villa and was amazed at the footwork of Andy Lockhead ha ha.
