Wingbacks unable to beat a man - Forde, poor again. We shouldn’t be looking for Max to play down the left like a wingback.

They seemed to get past our defence so easily, worrying at times.

Yes, we’ll take the win and move on, but we can’t keep performing as we are. We’ll struggle against the better teams.
Too many passes backwards and sideways , yes trying to move their 9 men around, but come on, someone has to look forwards.

We’ll go again at the weekend

I once again thought midfield was poor the three who started can’t be pleased with their performance’s . I would personally be looking to bring in a midfield general before deadline.

Yes we got 3 points but it could easily have been a different story had Gateshead took their chances. We aren’t reliable when a team comes at us regardless of whether we are winning, drawing or losing. We need to get better at managing the game and going through the gears as opposed to just coming out of the traps for 20 minutes high tempo and then letting the other side totally come into the game. We need to find a medium gear that keeps us ticking over and dominating possession and managing the game sensibly as to looking totally disjointed when the opposition strings more than 5 passes together.

Against a really poor team and two teams who had ten men for the majority of the match.

When you set this against fan expectation to win the league comfortably, then this explains why fans are not totally satisfied.

We’ve been waiting over a year for our general. When is Parky going to realise you win the midfield battle, you generally win the game…

Hard to criticise a team which is second and just won 3-1 but the way they got behind us 5-6 times with 10 men wasn’t good enough, a lot stemmed from our midfield once again being non existent. Jones and Davies both struggled to get in the game tonight and Lord Luke Young was the same sideways and backwards negative passing whilst giving away sloppy free kicks in dangerous positions he is the master of the niggly tackle from behind like the penalty on Saturday.

Somehow PP has got to shoehorn Lee and O Connor into the side and try and get a balance as Lee must start.
