to add a fourth (or maybe supplemental point to yours!) - teams tend to press us hard in the first half, reducing our time and space on the ball, but generally, teams this level cannot keep that going all game (Halifax sounded knackered at half time), we seemed to totally dominate 2nd half (I wasn't there I was listening to RW) and I felt the goal was coming (their keeper made some worldly / lucky saves!) and I felt like it if one goes in we'll get many - which is what happened.

As long as we don't have a mad moment (which we do!) and concede and we go into the 2nd half level, I feel we will be able to dominate most teams in the 2nd half at home. We need to grind out wins, we have the quality and fitness to win this league - we're not going to batter all teams, playing in front of 10k fans makes our games effectively cup finals for these.

We need to show respect, patience and grit and we'll get over the line this season - I'm confident

Palmer was my MOM but was delighted for Tozer to have been the recipient.
It's a team game and, to a degree, you are only as good as those around you. As some have already stated, having Tunnicliffe alongside him has improved him and the entire defensive unit. That said, 5 across the back made it easy for Halifax to, very effectively, press and close down our midfield (their #19 was excellent).
Too often (more so away) our tactics seem to be to let lesser teams to come on to us and wear themselves out. Problem being we find ourselves having to come from behind.
We are better than that!

It's not easy to play through a team who started with an aggressive press like Halifax did. There literally wasn't time to have a touch.

One way to get around this is to push your WB's forward which Forde did first half with some success but McFadzean is no outlet. I see us being able to get around this high, aggressive press with more success when the excellent Mendy returns.

Just one thing I picked up from the highlights, the amount of clear fouls, blocks and shirt pulls on our players in the Halifax penalty area was incredible. Decent shouts for at least 4 penalties. Referee gave nothing.

Young literally brushes the back of their lad, penalty.

And kicks him in the shin. One of my biggest gripes with Young is the amount of rash challenges he makes. He gives far too many free kicks away in dangerous positions.

Definate penalty - challenge from behind and Young is on the wrong side of the man and there's contact.

A poor challenge but Hayden completely missing the ball with an attempted header and Tozer getting beat in the air not good either.

I love Mullin and think he's brilliant but how is anybody giving him more than a 6 for Tuesday? He barely touched the ball and did nothing of note until the 90th minute when he went on a good run and won the throw. Had a definite off day

The ball hit hayden in the chest at speed. How is he supposed to head it ?

Tozer is rarely going to beat their 9 in the air. The guy is huge in comparison
