This could sound negative but I’m genuinely interested in peoples opinions. Anyone starting to find the foreign fans weird at best and at worst a bunch of increasingly annoying try hards. Selfie sticks at the ground or nauseating ‘insta’ posing pre match, use of the term ‘jersey’, stupid questions about frozen pitches, streaming or cup draws is starting to make me think there’s a massive downside to the documentary. Don’t get me wrong, Rob and Ryan are amazing and the investment was a life saver, but it’s all the weirdos that seem to come with it. Who watches a tv program then decides to support that team? I really enjoyed the film about the Philadelphia Eagles …. Didn’t decide to go on holiday there, recently read a book on the history of Juventus…… very interesting but I couldn’t even tell you who they play next, I watched the Michael Jordan documentary the last dance twice….but I haven’t bought any Chicago bulls gear. I just think it’s really odd behaviour, you choose a team when you’re young, sometimes you choose 2 (a big one and a little one who will almost never meet) and that’s it. I live 5 miles outside town have done most of my 40 years of life and have been in the turf 6 times max, I’m always avoiding having to go into town for anything but watching the football yet people are choosing to fly across the Atlantic and come for a few days, just can’t get my head around it. If I didn’t support us I’d be with the 90% of other football fans and hate us on principle.
