Default Ratings v Scunthorpe

Lainton - 7 I know it's one game but Howard does not save that header. Loved seeing him back.

Hossanha - 5 said last week questions need to be asked to our medical staff, our approach to games and work load. Far to many injuries for it just to be unlucky.

Tunnicliffe - 8 no nonsense centre back love him.
Tozer - 7 solid enough did well.
Cleworth - 7 Decent performance rarely troubled.

Macalinden 3 - not his fault but Parky has to stop playing him on right he has no right foot. Not his fault but abysmal.

Young 3 - dreadful only got a 3 for hitting the bar, so glad O' Connor has shown fans hes not a decent DCM, much better futher forward. Never have controlled games when he plays DCM, get cannon to sit and play him futher forward.

Jones 4 - dreadful just looks shite with Young and Lee.

Lee 4 - shite, ball was over his head most of the game but still had a poor game.

Palmer -6 does alot of work that goes unnoticed but the big centre back marked him well

Mullin 7 - won the pens and scored so did his job, didn't look fully fit.

Davies 7 - did more in 5 mins than the entire MF did in 90
Mendy 6 - was better tonight, should have layed it off for Jones to tap it home but still think we have a decent player there.
Dalby 7 - just a matter of time before he starts

Palmer has no one anyone near him to win 2nd balls - Mullin, Lee, Jones all guilty of it, makes him look shite but hes a massive player for us.

He lost every header tonight. Dalby came on and won three.

Lainton - 7 - that save in the 2nd half from the header, Howard doesn't make. First clean sheet at home this calendar year thanks to our #1.

McAlinden 3 - out of position, and struggled immensely
Cleworth 7 - targeted but did his job well. Distribution not great
Tozer - 7 - Solid in defence, distribution poor
Tunnicliffe - 7 - Solid
Hosannah - 6 - Looked dangerous going forwards before going off. Unfortunate.

Young - 5 - 2 excellent efforts on goal but ultimately not his best night. Mostly anonymous.
Jones - 3 - worst I've seen him in a while. Extremely negative with his passing and anytime he tried to play it forwards it didn't pay off. He's better than this but is struggling in an unbalanced midfield.
Lee - 4 - Anonymous. Appeared to go missing for long spells and not involved in any build up play.

Mullin - 8 - 2 penalties won and converted, tried to get things going up front and succeeded without us having any play in midfield. A true star. MOTM.
Palmer - 6 - Thought he did a good job holding the ball up, with little service. Needs to be more clinical with his headed efforts.

Mendy - 6 - Off the pace for the most part due to injury but still looked a threat going forwards.
Dalby - 6 - okay, didn't do much
Davies - 7 - We looked a different team with him on the pitch. Constantly looking for the ball and put the ball in that led to our 2nd goal. Class act.

Lainton 8-looked solid
Hosannah 6- was looking good before he came off. Doesn't bode well really.
Tunnicliffe 7- Got his head on everything
Tozer 6- Did OK. His throws seem less dangerous without Hayden
Cleworth 6- Fine
MacAlinden 5- hasn't got a right foot, tries hard but needs to be on the left
Lee 5- Anonymous. Wasn't until Davies came on that he started to do anything
Jones 3- Awful. Worst performance I've ever seen from him
Young 4- Misplaced passes, late into tackles. Massive off day.
Mullin 8- His first penalty looked soft, but he was a threat all night. Thank God we have him.
Palmer 6- Was given hopeful punts to chase all night. Not much he could do really.

Mendy 7
Davies 7
Dalby 7

All subs improved us. Great to see JD back- we actually started passing it around again. Dalby showed some good movement and link up play. Mendy played well and was unlucky not to score when he came on.

Lainton 9 - it’s such a relief to have him back. Faultless performance, so assured.

Mcalinden 6 - did ok at times but some errors too, played out of position.
Cleworth 7 - comfortable performance.
Tozer 7 - solid as always, looks happier with Tunnicliffe alongside him.
Tunnicliffe 8 - a rock. Immense.
Hosanna 4 - why is he given a start when he’s made of biscuits? Forced us to use one of our three substitutions, far too early. Still, that’s not the lads fault. Parky has erred there. Don’t play him again unless he’s more likely than not going to play the full game.

Young 6 - busy enough, a few errors, but I don’t understand him being scapegoated by some fans. Yes he’s exposed without TOC in there, but, he’s still doing a job, for me.
Jones 6 - did ok but a bit negative at times.
Lee 5 - never stopped running, but needs to show up more to receive the ball from the back, and needs to make things happen more often than he did tonight. JD showed him what to do, the minute he came on.

Palmer 5 - seems to be a bit jaded? Either a niggling injury or needs a break, give Dalby a start.
Mullin 7 - always buzzing around, two goals too, and having to come back deep looking for the ball due to lack of activity in the attacking mid area.

Mendy 7 - did well enough, particularly going forward.
Davies 8 - really set things alight from the moment he came on. Welcome back.
Dalby 7 - got stuck in and looked busier and more influential than Palmer did.
