One of those where if we don’t win I would throw some 5s in there but the win overall probably elevated everyone by 1 point:

Okonkwo 7
Cleworth 7
O’Connell 6.5
Boyle 7.5
McClean 6
Cannon 6
Lee 6
Evans 6
Bolton 7
Fletcher 6
Marriott 6

Subs all 6.5

It's chicken and egg, which comes first, defenders playing long balls or midfielders who lose the ball under pressure. In an effort to get Marriot in behind their defence we played a few aimless long balls but the effort Sutton put in, they got alot of joy pressing and stopped us playing through the 3rds and conditions particular first half, didn't favour dwelling on the ball.

O'connell 8 - Great game, Defenders won us the game
Boyle 8 - Solid no nonsense and good finish
Bolton 7 - Poor defensive imo but a massive threat going forward, worry our formation is going to suit him

Evans - 6 Poor wasted away from home, no passes on, as we are so deep.
Cannon 7- Solid worked hard.
Lee - 5 Dreadful our worst player.

Marriott 6. 5 -Had moments but was served scraps.
Fletcher 6 - isolated had nothing to work with.

Young 8 - suited his game massively, Poor game, poor pitch and he just did everything simple and no pissing about. Should he start on Saturday? not for me as it will be a total different game. But well done to him.

Mullin - 7 made a difference, think it helped coming on against a tired Defenders but the guy is still class even though its obvious he's carrying a injury.

Palmer 7 - much better option then Dalby, I'd probably start with on Saturday and bring on Fletcher at 60mins
AGREE - Apart from scoring the winning goal, Lee did absolutely nothing and often got in the way of everyone. His confidence is very low and frustrated He couldn't sort his feet out most of the match.

He’s been off his game for a while, little has been coming off for him, he’s been getting caught in possession and gave away a needless free kick from which Sutton scored, probably down to frustration.

Hopefully he gets some confidence back after the winner he scored.

Or maybe the manager could employ some more creative tactics and actually use his midfielders.

Mr Sugden’s ratings from last night:

Arthur 7 - some very good saves but hesitant when the ball is put into the box.
Bolton 6 - quietly impressed with him and I can see him cementing his place in the side
McClean 7 - not his best performance in a Wrexham shirt, but did not stop getting up and down the pitch
Cleworth - 7 solid performance from Max.
O’Connell - 7 deflection cost us a goal but did well otherwise
Boyle - 8 after being written off after the red card, a solid performance and a goal
Evans - 6 competed in midfield but conditions made it difficult to get the ball down and play a passing game
Cannon - 7 loads of energy and our best midfielder on the night
Lee - 7 didnt contribute hugely throughout the game, but scored the winner
Marriot - 6 decent full debut. Got into some good positions and has pace. Lacked decent service on a poor playing surface and windy conditions
Fletcher - 6 feeding off scraps at times but showed plenty of quality when he did get the ball.

Subs:

Mullin 6 palmer 6 nice options to have off the bench!

‘Youngy’ 6 solid when he came on and kept the ball well.

Difficult game at a shoddy little windswept ground. The pitch looked like a ploughed field on ifollow. Games like this are never going to be great spectacles and I’m just happy we have brought 3 points back to north wales and got back on track. We played much better on Saturday and lost - but that’s football I guess!

He was injured by Palmer gripping him by the throat. It's because they hate each other so much after Mullin took the piss out of King Charles' sausage fingers.

Bobby Grant told me in Total Fitness.

Okonkwo 7 - decent game only let down by his kicking.
Cleworth 6 - not one of his better performances
O’Connell 7 - solid defensively but let down by his long balls
Boyle 9 - defensively one of the best performances from any player this season
McClean 7 - strong defensively, rest of his game below par
Cannon 7 - great defensively, average in possession
Lee 8 - well taken goal and should have had a second
Evans 6 - game mostly passed him by apart from some decent passes.
Bolton 7 - good defensively & good assist, needed a little more going forward
Fletcher 6 - tough game, no service from rest of the team
Marriott 6 - look threatening, worked hard but no service

Subs - 7

I’d put Evans at right CB and play Young in midfield on Saturday.
