Just been reading that Arthur could be released by Arsenal at the end of the season on a free .Would definitely be a good move for us

We’ve known that for a while. Depends on wages and signing fees. He’s undeniably a great shot stopper but not brilliant with his feet and a decision making has been questionable. He’d be a good league one keeper possibly lower champ, but I don’t see him getting higher without regular play and improvement. If the price is right and he wants to stay great but wouldn’t like to see us over pay because there are others of his standard out there looking for loans or new contracts.

There's better, more experienced keepers out there but Arthur is fine for where we are and if promoted would be worthy of the opportunity in League One.

I we fail to sign him, I wouldn't be too upset.

Sounds like he will be released regardless. Arsenal are pretty good in helping players when getting released to get other clubs. They might even persuade him to stay here.

Terrific shot stopper but he’s not vocal enough, maybe that will come as he gets older and bolder.

Arthur is fun to watch. I really enjoy seeing him have a go at it. He is tall, has good range, and makes stops that some of the other keepers on the team cannot.

With that said, I have to agree about the fee if it is too high. There should be some significant turnover on the team this summer one way or the other. If the team gets promoted, it will need to step it up again in quality to stay up in League One. If we stay in League Two for some reason, then it will just be trying to get the team to a place where it can get promoted next season.

I do see Arthur making mistakes, but every goalie does that from time to time. I do wish he would work on his ball skills a bit and work on playing the ball out a bit. He tends to hang back in the goal mostly, but that is probably by design.

He is still young and learning which is a blessing. I will enjoy the ride either way.

His stock has definitely gone down as the season's gone on. I'd be quite happy to sign him but I would be reluctant to break the bank. Is he a massive upgrade on a fully fit Lainton?

On Lainton there was a story doing the rounds at the weekend that Lainton was refused entry on match day by a security guard on the player's entrance. Lainton insisted that he worked at Wrexham but reports are that the guard didn't recognise him as a player and wouldn't let him in.

Sounds bollocks. Even if he's injured he'll still have been attending games for the last number of years.

It's this the same source that said Joey was refused entry a while back?
