This was exactly what I meant. There’s a difference between what you should do and realistically what you can do.

Given the resources and momentum behind the club I wouldn’t be shocked if you were in mix for promotion next season but right now I would say it’s more likely that you’ll be looking at a top 10 finish, possibly in contention for a play off spot.

I remember us playing them on Rush's debut. Their keeper conceded a hilarious own goal.

I remember losing 0-1 at their place, last game of the 82-83 (?) season, Division 3. Didn't do them any good, we were both relegated to Division 4. Cried into our beer in a couple of Reading town centre pubs afterwards. Happy days?

I remember that. Andy Legg, if memory serves, with a fairly innocuous back-pass that the keeper made a complete hash of. Oh, how we laughed.

Great memories, less than friendly pitch invasion at the end, no one wanted to drive the van home, volunteer driver drove to train station, hopped out and said thanks lads, don't know who drove after that, but we did pass a sign that said Southampton 20 miles.
