So, no.

c) or they spend their money at other businesses that approach them.

Are you in business yourself??

Definitely not, I'm certainly no fan of the person pretending to be Neil Cooke. A particularly vicious troll.

How far will you go to 'encourage' those businesses to advertise their brand to 3500 people every fortnight?

Should we direct anyone who shows interest to Geoff Scott or should we arrange a convenient time to put the parties together?

So many questions / so much to be earned / so little time!
I think its really a question of finding the right business' that are right for the club. It's never black and white. If you look at Dickens Cars they sponsored the club for years, the high profile Anderlecht match programme etc. Holding the Nissan deal for North Wales was a valueable piece of business as they represented the future as Japanese cars cornered the market in price and quality. Though as events unfolded firstly in the 80's boardroom collapse and then again after the millenium with a certain Luxury Travel Expert you wouldnt necessarily say that Mr N Dickens was an asset to Wrexham Football Club or the Community owned Club movement or to the WST.

There will be some local business who see value in aligning with the football club and others who feel exactly the opposite. With the high volume of membership of WST members, I also don't think it is sensible for it all to come down to 1 person to be responsible for all. We all have friends and contacts we can bring into the club. That is the very essence of a Community Owned Club.

Thank you El Poncho for your response.
I agree careful consideration of the sort of person(s) who could benefit Wrexham FC needs to be made. However, if out of this 'drive' we found 15 additional suppliers of ground advertisers or some other form of sponsorship, it would be worth it.
I am going to leave it there because it would appear that others don't share the vision and have their own agendas but as always I will do all I can to introduce potential new partners to the club
a) if they are right for the club
b) if I believe they can bring real benefit

In my mind the OP raised a very worthwhile idea but sadly the fact that it wasn't met with universal acclaim, is a source of some sadness.

I totally agree with you Ddraigoch and understand you have concluded your thoughts on this.

A community owned club can only truly be effective and have the strength of a community if it is able to maximise all its contacts and bring that warmth and good feeling into the club. Obviously that's a logistically hard thing to do, especially hard when most people are serving as volunteers.

I think this creates a difficult balance, as when people raise an opinion it can at times be perceived as being critical even when it was never intentioned to be.

And there are understandably some fans who want to do good for the club outside of the WST framework. Personally I am very happy to work alongside it as I believe in its values.

Creating a balance is something for the whole Commuity of fans to work out, as after all the future of the Club is at stake, not any individuals.

Maybe this mantra could be adopted by those that were not interested in some outside investment especially as any terms that may or may not have been applicable were not even heard.
