Of course they bought promotion but people are expecting DK to put a promotion winning team together in one transfer window with the extra budget he has available. Even with FGR wealth it took a few years in the doing, they are the longest serving NL team and have been financing the first team squad for some time now. Finally got a side good enough to beat a weakened Tranmere side to go up after coming 3rd. The budget is key, but there are so many other factors that have to be right to be successful.

DK is a step in that direction. It will be another competetive league next season but we should be alot closer with the plan DK has put in place. Yes it did have the feel of a make or break moment for them!
If they keep their squad together they will have a good chance and he's obviously a decent manager but who knows what will happen.
