I would like to see a striker and centre back in. I don't think Marx is ready for the first team, and it could end up being a Shaun Pejic situation in that he will be a target for the boo boys.

He done well today and we conceded a goal from a great free kick for which he wasn't at fault for.. not sure how he will get targeted.. the lad will do alright but isn't ready to play week in week out yet , which is why he will be a back up.

Not sure I know of a centre back in any league who is playing regularly at such a young age unless they have been loaned out. He has great potential, he just needs to cut out some of the mistakes which am sure through good coaching this will happen.

It sounded to me like we dominated large parts of the game. Which I took as a real positive considering Chorley aren't far off the pace of a lot of teams in our league.

It'll mean when we go away from home to similar teams we'll be able to boss games and dictate play, turning these draws into wins as the season gets going and the team gells more.
Something which we've failed to do in recent seasons.

We do need someone else up.front and hopefully the player Keates is talking to will sign next week.

The team will change over the season and new players will come in so I'm not overly worried that we haven't got a complete squad just yet. If we were to be starting the league tomorrow is be confident with the squad as it is.

A comment worthy of wider debate but not really related to Chorley, and god forbid the RP police wade in to tell us what we can and cannot talk about in particular threads, but this is miles off the reality. Crap players may get stick for being crap but plenty can have form that levels out and then still get slated once a mistake does come again - this makes them targets. Too many examples to mention really. Your comment also shows why the common truism of "players will be backed as long as they do their best" is nowhere near the reality.

Came away from that one feeling flat. Not much upfront, crosses never finding anyone , uninspiring midfield, both halves. Bright spot was Roberts and Mackreth down the left but no end product as poor crosses or scuffed shots. Chorley rarely looked troubled with their large lumps at the back clearing everything. Disappointing, and i know its a friendly, but....
