Default Ratings vs Macclesfield

Dunn 5 - did everything required of him except save the one speculative shot that required a standard save

Roberts 5 - looked a tad off the pace. Not sure what his pre-season was like but needs to up his game
Smith 7 - standard Manny
Pearson 7 - led from the front, won his tackles and headers. Didn't look unduly troubled
Jennings 6 - his distribution was poor on times but never shirked a challenge

Rutherford 8 MOTM - covered every blade of grass in the cause. End product wasn't always the best
Carrington 5 - didn't seem to know what his role was and frustratingly kept playing the ball sideways instead of forward
Wedgebury 5 - the game passed him by. He was trying to be the enforcer but it didn't work
Kelly 6 - obviously has the skills to excite the fans and nearly scored but he drifted out of the game too often

Boden 7 - with support he will do well but we must play to his strengths
Holroyd 7 - looked lively before he went off but anything that he created was through his own efforts.

I thought Askey and Macc did a job and they got the break they deserved although it was a flukey goal. Let's get behind the boys and back them.

Off the Maidenhead on Tuesday!

Precisely how I scored it. Excellent assessment imo!

Think some of those are extremely generous! I would say based on an improved 2nd half:

Dunn 4
Roberts 6
Smith 6
Pearson 7
Jennings 5
Kelly 6
Wedgbury 5
Carrington 4
Rutherford 5
Boden 6
Holroyd 6

subs

Massanka 6
Wright 6
Mackreth 5

Agree about Roberts. If that's his best then it's madness that we gave paid a transfer fee for him.

Default Re: Ratings vs Macclesfield

Dunn 4- Had one simple save to make and completely fluffed his lines. Cost us the game

Roberts 5- Ok from a defensive POV but lacking any quality going forward. Will improve I'm sure.

Manny 7- Rightly made MOM. Never looked troubled and distribution was more-or-less spot on

Pearson 6.5- As above but with a couple of sloppy balls.

Jennings 5- Sloppy at times.

Carra 5- Ok. Won headers but ineffective as a CM.

Wedgbury 5- Bang average. Macc gave us a CM lesson first half. Can we really challenge at the top with these two in the middle of the park?

Rutherford 6- huffed and puffed and put a few decent balls in.

Kelly 6- some really nice touches and moments of composure on the ball. Give him time.

Boden 6- you can tell he has 'it'. Give him the service.

Holroyd 6.5- looked our main threat before he went off.

Massanka 5- didn't really offer much
Mackreth 5- No moments of impact really

7s and 8s after a limp home defeat?! Will you be giving 12 out of 10 if we win 4-0?!!

Default Re: Ratings vs Macclesfield

Dunn 4 dropped a right clanger.
Roberts 4 average at best. No link up play with Rutherford. Did he cross the half way line
Smith 6 fine
Pearson 6 fine
Jennings 5 poor

Rutherford 6 typical Rutherford performance. That the best he will be. Ran at the defence but lacks quality

Wedgbury 6 I thought he looked just a kicker in the first half but better second
Carrington 5 did he play?
Kelly 7 MOTM need to be in a midfield 3

Boden 6 needed to come deep as that was the only chance to get the ball. Needs a big man alongside
Holroyd 6 needs to be bodens backup

Subs
Massanka 4 awful

Mackreth needs to start. Presume injured
Wright big enough. Should start ahead of carra
