Re: Aldershot reaction
We seem to sit so far deep at silly times when we need to take the game to the opposition. We improved in the second half with a higher press, improved ball retention and use of the ball going forward. Kelly and Deverdicks will terrible in the first half. Kelly looks scared shitless to put his foot in half the time and Deverdicks was just running around like he was on the school play ground. Both better in second half but not sure if they both fit into the same midfield. We also improved when Holroyd was moved upfront.
All in all frustrating not to win but at least we know it’s play offs or nothing |

Re: Aldershot reaction
Quigley is so much better than everyone else. A willing runner all game mainly chasing crap long balls. His passion levels were also great to see. You can tell he cares and loves playing.
On the other end of the spectrum you have Jennings who was useless and has been for ages. Bring dave the rave in. Posted via mobile theme Last edited by jimmy1989; 24th February 2018 at 17.49:07.. |

Re: Aldershot reaction
Hung, drawn and quartered by a far better team, yet we somehow got a point, and really should have won it at the death. Quigley will have nightmares all week for his botched sitter.
Our team choice and formation in the first-half was bizarre. DK must have had a few too many spliffs having watched OGWT last night. We were dreadful and should have been dead and buried. However, we hung in, and in a better second-half, managed to look semi-decent for about 20 minutes. All-in-all, we now know the championship is beyond us, and that we need to buck up and start winning games to get into the POs, when anything might or might not happen. Cannot see the game being on next weekend, as Kent will be under 10 feet of snow and Ebbsfleet's pitch will be like a skating-rink. So lets hope it's mum's the word against the mighty Deviants. No doubt someone will claim that will be a difficult match which we can't expect to win. Dunn (7) - Did well but there were some very good crosses that whizzed across his box. Thankfully, there was nobody on the end of them. Roberts (5) - Looks knackered. M Smith (7) - Did well against some big, quick and powerful forwards. Pearson (7) - Ditto. His first-half blocking of Kelly for being a lazy-arse was worth watching. Jennings (3) - We have pheasants in our garden with more brain-cells and better positional sense than this liability. Why has he not been dropped for Raven? Beggars belief. Franks (4) - Mostly ineffectual. Rutherford is a better option. Wedgbury (7) - Some horrendously stupid passes that nearly cost us the game, but he's the only midfielder putting in a shift. Kelly (3) - Absolutely useless in the first-half but did buck up slightly in the second. Not good enough; get rid. Holroyd (4) - Wasted on the LW and marginally better when moved up top. But he is too lightweight and has stopped scoring. Quigley (7) - Would have been an (8) but for his faux pas towards the end. Nevertheless, without him we drop from being ineffective to bloody useless. Needs to play off Ainge. Deverdics (2) - How many bids did we make? And how much did we fork out? Slow and ineffective. Needs a rocket up his arse! Subs: Yes, DK, you are allowed to use them. And not just in the last few minutes! Ainge (5) - Looked handy and worth a start. I thought DK cocked up in spades today, and really does need to get together with CD and the skipper to work out how best to ensure we get into the POs and then have a go at winning them. On today's evidence - and that from the past few months - we simply ain't good enough. Thankfully, we are still in with a shout and can do it! No, must do it!

Re: Aldershot reaction
We've gone nearly a whole season unable to pass a ball, keep posession of it and we can't attack to save our lives....I think we need a coach.
