I don't know if it was offered on a take it or leave it basis but if I was offered a new job with more money and potentially better prospects I would expect that the new employer wanted to see that I was up for it , fully up for it not OK I will come along when I want to.

There is every possibly that he is sacked at Walsall however one poor season at Wrexham and he could be sacked as well. The Walsall deal offers more security.

Take the emotion out of this. If the Shrewsbury manager had been offered the Southampton job, would people have really expected him to show loyalty and stay ?

Taking out the emotion is not easy though otherwise we wouldn't care.

The only loyalty in football is shown by the fans everybody else is just doing a job of work.

Like most people in work he wants to work as high up as possible.

i think it is terrible timing, i do not like it, but i am pragmatic about it. He could stay on, less money, and a decent chance it goes pear shaped if the gamble of play offs do not work out, and get sacked down the line.

Or leave, take more money, a new contract with a new 3 year safety net, plus being sacked down the line by a league one club doesn't sound as bad as being sacked by a non league club if the worst came to the worst!

Bang on the nail the only thing missing is more money, if you are in a job say earning £1500 a month & someone from a company that is doing OK a bigger company and they offered you an Extra thousand spondoolies a month doing the same job what would anyone do? Figures are random but either way the higher you go in football the more you get.

Understanding and rational maybe, but not happy.
Agree, no one is happy about this, not even those who have moaned continuosly about DK all season. It could be a bigger disaster than not sticking longer with Morrell or Wilkin. Despite his lack of experience he is going to be a hard act to follow and the timing couldn't be worse, not only for the run in but for building on the improvements we have seen this season. The good news is we now have a decent squad and hopefully enough characters to keep focussed on the job in hand and whoever comes inherits a decent spine of a team already contracted.

Other good news is we keep some stability with AD & CD and CD has already proved he can step in and steady the ship, hopefully this time he can inspire this squad to seize the opportunity in front of them and turn this into a positive reaction. Allowing the club time to do the due diligence and get the right man.
