And how many fan-owned clubs have gone sour.

Figures please, how many fan-owned clubs have gone into administration and/or bust compared to privately owned?

No facts were giving. Just opinion. For this to be 'factual' there needed to be something to judge the statement on. Like figures of fan-owned clubs going into administration or/and bust against privately owned clubs going into administration or/and bust.

The club going bust is not the problem with being fan owned though, is it?

Fan owned is a safety net, guarantees the club exists, but doesn't provide enough money for the club to thrive.

Being privately owned by a sugar daddy gives the club more money, but there is the risk of nefarious intent on behalf of the owner.

The trick is to get a rich owner without nefarious intent, or at least won't shaft the club if they choose to exit. for example, The Eastleigh sugar daddy has jacked it in, but he has not shafted them.

It is a fact that the overwhelming majority of privately owned football league clubs have not gone into administration.

Please tell me which part of that is not factually correct?

That wasn't the point you brought up though is it? Before now moving the goalposts, you drew a comparison between the fan-owned and privately owned clubs when answering a question about financial aspects and due-diligence of private owners, not on-field success.

"How many of the 92 league clubs are fan owned? 5? 6?

So, answering the point that YOU raised, I would say it is a fact that the overwhelming majority of clubs that have entered administration are privately owned, compared to fan-owned.

Exeter City have been majority fan-owned since 2003. Since then have got as high as 8th in League One. OK back in League Two now, but play-offs in the last two seasons. No sugar daddy steamrolling them there, and no sugar-daddy was in place when they got out of this league.
