It's a no brainer the 2 players are immense in this league and would continue to be at league 2 level. Totally committed to the club and cause, would be extremely difficult to replace.

i think to replace these 2 would cost in the region of £200,000, and that wouldnt be a guarantee of success, there hunger to win and pride in this club, you cant really buy that, in someways its like what footballers used to be allabout

No one is assuming anything.

The point is, if we offer now it gives us a much time as possible to negotiate before Jan. When other clubs can start talking to them, turning their heads and possibly driving up the cost.

If they do dither and don't sign the contract, it gives us more time to improve the offer. Or heaven forbid mull over whether it would be in our interests to sell. Preferably the former.

But if the latter, gives us time to source adequate replacements.

If they do sign, its a signal of intent for possible new recruitments.

Because you can bet you bottom dollar, that Dean Keates will be giving them a call come the 1st of Jan.

If into L2 a lot will get new and improved contracts anyway

Come January if we are still in the mix they will want to stay anyway

As long as DK dont come a sniffing then we will be OK
