Re: How do we score more goals over xmas ?
These 3 games over Xmas/New year could make or break our season as regards winning the league, I can't remember the last good Xmas by Wrexham and a big home gate boxing day the team always seem to never turn up.
I can see it now 0-0 against Salford 15 mins to go we get a corner and we start time wasting to hang of for 0-0 at home, we lose possession they break and score. Posted via mobile theme |

I like many others believe our lack of goalscoring has been there for a considerable time, many seasons. NO forward has been able to score on a consistent basis at our club for a number of years. It cannot just be the goalscoring ability of the forwards, it has to be the way we are set up and the way we play even to today. Very, very rarely this season has the Racecourse been buzzing even when we are winning, this also supports the safety first type of football we play. Hopefully Mike Newell will have an impact as he was a highly successful striker and knows what changes may be necessary to give whoever is upfront the chances. It doesn't matter if you have McNeil ,Whittle or Bennett upfront, if you do not attack enough you have little chance of scoring. There will be massive pressure immediately on any new January purchase and his conversion rate chances/goals will need to be of a different order to improve us from what we have got. That is UNLESS WE BECOME A MORE ATTACKING SIDE. It is almost laughable that names like Danny Wright are raised, a proven non scorer here over many games. Yes he was a competitor, a big hearted runner, but a striker never. Clearly the next three games are going to have a massive impact on the rest of the season, we need 7 points minimum to stay in contention, or even to create a gap behind us. Come on GB and Newell lets get forward from now on starting with Neville/Butt /Scholes Wanderers on Boxing Day. |

Re: How do we score more goals over xmas ?
Hopefully both salford and solihull teams both get food poisoning but as look at yesterday we still couldn't score against an injury ravaged side.
Only way is to get another striker in on loan and hope they can do the buisness. |

Put the stat book away and get the dvds out of last two promotion seasons and look what can be achieved with two up top and some width.
