Holroyd has not delivered this season when given many opportunities to shine. He is however a quality player, proven at this level and a key member of the squad.

For me, both players need match time to sharpen their game and the FLT is an ideal opportunity to allow this.

They are not currently in the starting XI, but with JMD gone, Pyke injured and Beavon only managing an hour most weeks, I think they will be needed from the bench over the next few months.
12/19 Opportunities have been from the bench which ,IMO, is a hard place to come from as a striker - he has scored twice. Fondop has had 14/23 starts with 5 goals. Fondop has played more than double the minutes so is no more prolific. For me Holroyd would need to start more which is unlikely to happen unless he goes out on loan. As you say however we probably need him on the bench so we will have to accept that he may not be as prolific.

I don't see the point in discarding any players at this point unless it affects the level of player we can afford to bring in.

Holroyd and Fondop will likely be needed at some point between now and the end and need to be available if called upon. If we send them on loan they need to have an immediate recall clause in case.

If we don’t get a striker (or two) in we will definitely need to keep them both. It sounds like Beavon needs a rest as well even though he only usually lasts an hour in games.

I think we will see Holroyd get half an hour on Saturday. TBH I would have hoped we would have had a new striker in by now. Like you say we've had a busy Xmas and some players need resting as we don't have the depth for proper squad rotation in certain areas.

We can't talk about getting rid of Fondup and Holroyd unless we sign better replacements, the squad is already stretched and we the trophy to play in still, I think Holroyd will be here until the end of season when his contract runs out.

If we get rid of them we will need to bring in 4 strikers.

I remember hearing Fondop was the highest rated young player in the National League. Don’t know what they based that on being mid 20’s. I thought it was a major signing for us. Sad to see it’s not working out.

We need a reserve team that is playing games so that these fringe players can get game time when they are not getting first team minutes. It must be difficult to keep sharp just by training.

All bar Holroyd will drop down I.m.o.

Hot Rod is easily good enough for an upper mid table side
