In my view devoting time (especially) and money (within reason) to bring in an investor/new owner is exactly what the board should be doing.
I still think any serious investor would find a way of approaching the board without the deposit being a deterrent?

What you mean using this forum for what its meant for?
What's wrong with criticising anyway?

Hope you've never criticised a local MP or the council or the Government or any other company or organisation without trying to get elected or employed yourself? Otherwise that would make you a massive hypocrite.

The most flawed of arguments, ever.

I was just referring to your remark " Actions speak louder than words" therefore less words more action. Get on the Board.

This is the problem. The board need to be approaching serious investors, actively seeking them , selling the club to them.

It seems like that they are opposition, and its up to them to meet our challenges.

I know ultimately we need to ensure that any investor has the best interest of the club in their plans and they need to convince the board and us trust members of that. However we should make it as easy as possible for them to have the opportunity to do that.

Make your mind up. What you suggested was no one should criticise the board unless they try to get a board position themselves.
And my remark was in the context of the board saying they would speak to any potential investors and krux point.

who says that they don't welcome potential investors and aren't doing this ? Hearsay and rumour is slowly eating away at our club at the moment. The processes are there in place to avoid timewasters and chancers (as we've had numerous times before) - if any investor is serious about investing in the club a mere £5k should not put them off, and if they have issues with an agreed NDA then their interest is not above board - if the potential investor signs the NDA then the club board should also, with the same financial penalties - if the NDA is one sided then I would assume that's why their legal advisors advised against it - and rightly so.

My personal view is welcome investment, but be cautious. Put the club up for sale - not on your nelly.

Do I want the board to resign no - does it need restructuring yes - off field they have done a magnificent job of steadying the ship, on field they have been found wanting -nothing worse than that - there should be some new blood to come in and essentially a Director of football to lead on footballing side, to identify problems such as long term strategy, recruitment, contracts, reserve/development team etc. and work alongside the manager and board in finding solutions both short term and long term.

Where have I suggested no one should criticise the board?

Really? You aren't going to get a return on investment there. The owners are very financially savvy and don't waste a penny without seeing a ROI. I'd be amazed if they're even close to interested
