Its my opinion, feel free to counter argue rather than simply dismiss the notion.

Lets see how he performs this time round after a pre-season fitness and hopefully with some better players.

Isn't encouragement better than booing?

Fully agree with you JND

Heaven forbid that a player has the audacity to respond to those exemplary fans in the MRS

Assistant managers usually do what? Sign players?

If the deal is already agreed then it’s the money men who will finalise contracts.

If we’re still negotiating, there’s no way any manager would leave it up to their assistant to do that.

Good job we have things like phones and email nowadays.

None of this excuses the fact that no one actually knows whether we have an assistant manager in place though.

The notion it was Grant having an attitude problem that caused a clash with Joey Barton? Sorry to come across all Del Boy, but are you not au fait with Joey Barton's oeuvre?

Regarding Grant, disappointing as he may have been, I think there's a decent footballer in there somewhere. There were (very) brief flashes of it, and I don't think we were in any way set up to play to his strengths. Is that a problem with his attitude? Maybe it's his lack of flexibility? As many have observed, the lack of sparkle from most of the other attack-minded players over the past few years would suggest there is a fundamental problem with way the team is set up.

I'm sure Bryan Hughes is more than aware of this. Can he fix it? I've no idea. I hope so, but it's going to need round pegs for those round holes, and that's easier said than done. Grant could thrive in the correct formation, playing alongside players which suit it. Then again, maybe Holroyd could too. And Boden. I refuse to believe they're all shite.

forcing players to play wide to suit a system isnt the best

why our managers are insisting on this with the players we have is silly

In a 433 the players need to interchange though.
Wright, Pogba, Speight had to have 2 wide and 1 down the middle.

Dont recruit players that dont fit

very well said. It always amazes me how some people think that having a go at players is going to make them play better. As you say encouragement helps booing etc makes things worse.

If a player is lacking effort and is playing below the standard I think is acceptable, I will boo, sorry.

how would you describe our football set up , defend then hit on break with pace, keep the ball and probe an opening, big man up front to hold it up and play off, sit deep hoof it up hope to get a set piece. i think its defend at all costs and hope an oppertunity comes, to scout and sign a player for scotland, he must have what we need to fit in
