Still living in the old days and for years not enough has or is being done to drag us screaming and shouting into the modern world - this topic causes a fanbase division and we are all the losers as we are having to turn away money from another 500 - 100 SCFC fans who would also spend their money in food and drink in the ground if only we had the proper facilities for them.

To put it into perspective Stockport's next away fixture is at Harrogate and even they are giving them in excess of 800 tickets with their tinpot ramshackle one level stadium.

Sorry but it's the same shit year after year - and the only thing that changes is the level of rust and additional leaks in the stand roofs. Other clubs have built whole new stadiums and we can't get our arse in gear to get one stand built - but there's always the xmas raffle to generate funds isn't there !
You'd think we were turning away fans every week the way some people go on.

We haven't sold out, home or away fans for years. One time we might be a few hundred short for away fans doesn't make a new stadium an emergency.

Building a new stand for millions of pounds isn't going to stack up if we only need to use it once every 10 years.

On that basis we might aswell sell the Racecourse as a development site and ground share with Cefn Druids - just a thought.

If we are ever going to get out of the National League and attract larger crowds including regular large away followings we need to sort out our facilitities - start thinking like a business for everyday use instead of a casual fortnightly hobby.

I agree that the facilities aren’t up to scratch but it’s about priorities. We can’t start making a load of capital investment until we improve on the pitch.

I would argue that the racecourse is pretty knackered and the real long term solution is a new ground. Ploughing millions into a crumbling stadium might not be the best way forward.

I agree with you - have sadly had the same thought for years - millstone around our necks and all that - a money drain with high maintenance costs that ultimately hold us back perhaps - many clubs have overtaken us - those we competed regularly in the same league such as Chesterfield, Doncaster and Rotherham have moved to new grounds - others like Oldham have modernised their stadiums with new stands - York City are also progressing - it must be surely our turn soon ? It's almost accepted as the norm now that any kid who has grown up over the last 25 years has hardly ever seen Wrexham play at home in a four sided stadium - shouldn't be happening should it.

It’s hardly falling down is it? The mold road stand is only twenty years old!

Obviously the Kop needs replacing with an all-seater/safe-standing stand but surely the other two stands just require maintenance work? That has to be cheaper than building a new stadium to hold 15-20,000 doesn’t it?

There’s still life in the old girl. It’s Welsh football history . I for one wouldn’t want to leave it , also where would we put our massive floodlights?

The Mold road is in reasonable condition but the rest wants either massive renovation work or knocking down.

I know this will hit a nerve with numerous RP’ers but the iconic floodlights also need removing and replacing with modern lighting attached to the stands. The energy wasted lighting the sky must cost a small fortune.
