As to the moving ground that some want it would be the death nell of the town as well as the football club if we moved...and those massive floodlights are a part of our history.

Surely it would cost more top move as first of all we would be starting from scratch we don't own the ground to sell and for most of our existence as a club we have always rented it.

Yes it needs modernisation but we will need outside investment to do that

Being pedantic, but surely you just changing the bulb fittings then too?

We need to move forward. The sentimental value of big steel towers with lights bolted to them does nothing for the club. Clubs are all slowly moving into purpose built stadia (sometimes out of town!), especially those that are climbing the leagues.

Appreciate your points.
Floodlights. Limited life left in the Stanchions? Will need replacing at some time even if it's not in conjunction with a Kop development.
Bulbs etc. Not sure LED's are effective at that height/ distance to the pitch but I'm sure a lighting expert would be able to confirm or dispel that.
Wouldn't really want to see us move from the 'course but being pragmatic and for ever optimistic (Don't call for the men in white coats) we may need to consider the possibility in the future. Double the crowds, double the parking problems and infrastructure etc.
No way could we afford to move without outside help like Cardiff or Swansea but we can dream.

I would hate to lose the Racecourse. I have been going since 1967 and it’s still special to me. Purpose built stadia might look like an advance with Wi-fi and heated seats etc. I find them cold, characterless places. Look at Arsenal’s new ground - it’s just a shell. Swanky yes. Just an excuse to charge silly admission fees. Obviously, WAFC are never going to be in their ball park. We are a regional community club. For me, that involves a ground in the middle of the community. No right and wrong here, just an opinion.

I don't mind staying at the course if it makes sense, but people are emotionally attached to the point that they'd sooner stay in a ruin than look to the future.

Both Shrewsbury and Doncaster have had increased attendances! The younger generation of supporter wants modern facilities. Unless you want to go on a pub crawl before the game, I don’t see how having an out of town facility would be a problem.

Hey QR, when we get the new Kop stand what floodlights will be part of it and will they replace Tech End to match.

Waiting on these exciting plans and times.

Clearly Stockport need more than 1050. 1500 is more likely what they would need.

Give them the tickets , surely there is a way to accommodate without them using the stand behind the goal.
May aswell just give Man United or Liverpool the whole ground if we drew them in the cup on that basis.
