We are much better with him playing. At least he can pass to his own men, is decent in the air and is more than competent.
It really wasn't a ridiculous comment. Barton is a very poor player. Nowhere near strong enough. But for me his biggest issue is in that position you have to show for the ball and offer a passing option every time the ball is in the middle third of the pitch, he doesn't do that he just lets the game pass him by.

In the players already here, the one guy who doesn't seem to have been given even a half decent chance is Leighton McIntosh. He was a regular scorer in Scotland (the "top" men on here will laugh at that no doubt), was Hughes's first signing (even more laughs), but if we are honest and sensible and keep the knives in their sheaths, he has shown he can score for us when given a tiny chance, and is keen to say the least. The way he has been treated, like many before him in the last five years is in my opinion poor ,very poor. Is there something in the background other than the " he's crap" merchants comments that mean he has been continually overlooked.

Yes, he’s really crap.

Not impressed with Barton, has been caught on the ball more times than I can count and loses concentration - he has good moments so wouldn't call him an awful player at all but not confident with him in the starting 11. As for people suggesting Walker, he gets in the 18 for Shrews every week and has started games in L1 this season, so no chance.
