Talk of Wrexham rugby club moving to new premises (possibly). Not sure what type of pitches they would have but I would think that changing rooms etc would be part of the set up.

If this is true why not team up to share facilities, something that is common down South Wales with Cardiff Blues sharing very high standard facilities with Universities etc.

May be to late to change tack though, would be good to know what the base budget for the groves is, I cant see us getting anything much for the suggested £10,000 to be honest.

I don’t see the point in spending so much on this (Potentially) with the figured being touted when we only train a few hours a week.

Good Idea , But going cap in Hand after it was stolen from us ? that really is rubbing salt in the wounds .

Why don't you pop down to 9 acre and take a look for yourself.

It's a complete embarrassment. No urgency, organisation or real purpose with groups of players standing around talking/pissing about for long periods.

Is it any wonder we are beaten by part time teams week in week out.

Pointless wasting money on a new training facility until the club is run by professionals

The past getting in the way of the future again?

Is it a viable option?

Has a sensible proposal been put forward to the FAW?

Surely it would make sense all round from a Welsh football perspective to help us out?

Stansty is a non starter. Could use Carden Park or Druids. The Groves seems a decent option as long as we don't go OTT with spending while we're still in the National League.
If we get promoted then options are open.
The groves isn't a decent option! It's too small and the build costs being thrown around by the board are way off current market for a suitable training facility.

The only plus side would be if the council let us have it for a peppercorn rent but I'm not aware if this has been detailed by the board.

Indeed.

Apart from anything else the proposed site is too small for the first team and COE, though considering how marginalised and diminished the youth system has become I shouldn't be surprised. There's nothing to say that the arrangement at Colliers Park will go on forever, but for a club that runs hand-to-mouth the lack of any sort of long-term vision is also nothing new.

I can fully understand people wanting to cling onto the heritage of the Racecourse, but there's no such sentimentality with a training ground (now that Colliers has gone and it's never coming back). We should be sourcing some cheap land on the outskirts big enough for our current and future needs.

When has pride ever stopped us? Our club has no self-respect in itself
