WST can even vote yearly to retain or dismiss the on field group.

I do appreciate the board do it for free and are probably all highly skilled individuals, but only Dixie has ever been in the game and he’s just joined. The group can oversee performance, recruiting, training schedules, youth development etc.
Hard to disagree with any of this Parry 52. The starting point for the Club Board should reflect the overall aims of the Club and recruit members with experience and drive in those areas. Obviously we all want success on the field and a return to the Football league - the Board would require someone with the ability to engage a manager capable of meeting that aim.

However we should also aim to enhance our Club in other areas and different skills would be required:

Set up and run a successful Youth team (academy)
Improve all aspect of catering and commercial development
re-engage the volunteers who created the DSA to improve matchday experience for those with difficulties

These are just a few examples, there are many more, which would enhance our Club by bringing in the right people who would have little to do with matters relating to the playing squad although if you get everything right and more people attend games it does help in the long run.

Whenever there is a great sadness as in this pandemic it exposes gaps in the infrastructure of an institution - a gap is an opportunity - we need the courage to get rid of the current crop and bring in fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

There's a positive suggestion. I'd envisaged one person but this is certainly a thought provoking post.
