An absolute disgrace, changes needed top to bottom. If I was R and R I’d get rid of Keates tomorrow after watching that shambles of a performance
It was bad, very bad. But the 7-2 drubbing by Gateshead was worse.

The worst for me was 0-3 v Sheffield Wednesday. Not a massive score but we had to ask for our ball back after the game !

The picture certainly wasn't "Broadcast standard" and the sound wasn't great either. It went from really quiet, to really loud, then back to really quiet.

I didn't like the beginning where you could hear them talking, before the match had even started.

But as you say i does the job. At least we can watch the match whilst we are unable to attend.

The multi camera angles were good, as was the replay feature.

Hartlepool looked a decent side, playing to feet and keeping the ball on the ground. They looked like a team, regardless of the conditions. With a bit of luck and better finishing they could easily have won 3-0.

We looked disjointed and put no pressure on them at all.

Another game when we were totally outclassed was when we lost 0-4 at home to PNE.

Ian Rush played in midfield for us -- yes, he was yards off the pace but still better than anything else we had -- but they whooped us good and proper.

I still think the 3-5-2 experiment is one of the root causes. Neither Hall-Johnson nor Reckord are wing-backs, and Reckord looks like an OAP ambling around the pitch. Midfield is dysfunctional, and we have a winger and a donkey up front.

And we wonder why we are doing so poorly. I also am amazed we are still in the PO zone, but it just emphasises how bad most teams are within the NL. And we are mid-table fodder at best!

3-5-2 gives us greater stability all over the pitch. Results have basically supported that view.

I feel more confident about RHJ than Reckord. Reckord is woefully inconsistent whereas you need a bit of stability from your wing backs in 3-5-2. Comparing these lads to Carlos and Paul Edwards together with Shaun Holmes, it's just chalk and cheese.

However, I feel it all stems from the midfield 3 and whoever Keates plays in there just isn't doing a job. Funny really as Keates was one of the best in the business (lower leagues, of course). They simply do not impose themselves on their opponents either physically or skillfully.

You have Young and Harris who are both 5'7" and like to put a boot in. Then, we have Davies and Jarvis who are a touch taller and better ball players but are lightweight at this level. Add it all together and it doesn't work.

The midfield 3 had little to do from an offensive perspective as they were bypassed most of the night however when presented with a chance the final ball was woeful from all of them.
Against Woking we actually tried to carry the ball forward rather than pumping hopeful balls towards Thomas who had no joy. We changed slightly when Durrell came on but he is not the answer for me.

I cannot see how we play 3-5-2 with no credible wing backs. It effectively reverts to 5-3-2 with 2 of the 3 midfielders also doing defensive roles.

Your stability is simply bodies behind the ball, who cannot then attack. We then have a CF who isn't very good, with a winger playing off him.

KISS is best employed at this level, hence I still believe 4-4-2 would be a better platform to build on this season. Next season? Well, most aren't up to the required standard, so get rid and bring in better quality.
