he mentioned that its a player who has suffered from a lot of recent injuries too... my guess is Ishmael Miller. He was either on a pay as you play deal with tranmere or he gave them money back after he got crocked, one of the two.

Was the end of the last transfer window end of January , so he's had 2 months to suss a couple of players but obviously hasn't , so why expect him to come up with anything decent now .

Bottom line is, he had time after Yussuf went to seek out the out of contract players, get them in to training. Get their match fitness up in case of an emergency. It isn’t like we couldn’t afford to have an extra body. Keates failed to prepare & now he’s preparing to fail & be released come the end of season. No point getting excited about any new signing, he’ll only moan about how bad this persons match fitness is & how we are so unlucky bla bla bla.

We don't know that. Maybe he wanted more but wasn't able to get them. It seems strange to think a manager wouldn't want as many players as possible, particularly strikers, when ours have been so poor. It comes to something when Kwame Thomas is being held in great esteem for scoring 9 goals in the conference!
