I suppose they do have the benefit of a large modern stadium so they probably get a better corporate revenue than a lot of other clubs down here. Still not entirely sure how they are affording all these transfer fees and, likely high, wages. Seems a bit of a gamble in a season when you've got clubs like ourselves and Stockport gping for it . Imagine if Rowe leaves mid season for a league club? which could happen if they are going well.

I agree, they may have businessman in the back adding to the pot slightly, but affording to pay these players wages month-to-month is a different matter.

Anyway, fair play to them, very good signing.

I'd rather have Mullin, Hyde and Angus than Tshimanga, Rowe and Asante but they've got better options off the bench.

I honestly think we are a bit behind this summer. The people behind scenes had months to plan this summer, yet 10 days before the season we are still 4 players short. These players will likely have a week training and possibly just one game to gel before the season kicks off? I know we can’t help PP being down with COVID but to me I think we will start the league slowly with the team not gelling. Injuries to Lennon & Brisley too. Hope I’m wrong, but I fear other clubs may have a head start on us.

Feel the same, it's quite surprising considering those behind the scenes, that we are still in this position. Hopefully all will get sorted this week but it's not ideal..

We also started from a very low base compared to other clubs around us, in fact we are virtually starting from scratch with regards to the club organisation.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, we’ve made a good start, but I agree some of our competitors are ahead of us.

Chesterfield might be throwing the dice ahead of what i believe is a wage cap coming next season in national league. Have to get out of this league this year and spend big to do that...! R&R should be doing the same with the resources they have access to...

They aren't going to be throwing big money at it. The whole ethos behind it is sustainability.
Therefore we will only be spending within our means and not accruing debt.

I believe we have our targets and they are set at the standard that will improve the 1st 11.
However in that we have to deal with the selling club if they are under contract and or the player if unattached. This next week to 10 days is when decisions will finally be made by them

For us we can either say nah move on to option b or c who aren't the same level or stick it out to get them.

I don't think we are dithering but patient to get who we want. The risk of course is we miss out on A and then B and C aren't available.
Plenty of players out there are we have the finances to be in a bigger pool rather than the bargain basement we were previously
