This is isn't about documentaries or profits.

We heard while they were here, this was Rob's "dream" ,it's his train set so to speak and he's got Ryan involved as the guy attracts money like there's no tomorrow. They are spending very little of their wealth

As we hopefully progress through the divisions I see further investors coming on board as these guys have one or two rather wealthy friends and contacts who would probably like a share of the action (I heard Ryan mention he"d been having casual chat with Mr Branson a few months back ?)

Exciting times doesn't really cover it

I'm very comfortable with the 2 Rs and the immediate future, but you raise a good point that I hadn't really considered before.
What will be the intention of future investors who get on the bandwagon?
I don't want to put the cart before the horse, so let's focus on promotion first!

(BTW, given what I've seen so far, I would expect the 2 Rs to impose contractual constraints on future investors to preserve their vision).

Nope, don’t know the bloke personally so wouldn’t say that. Just have reservations based on what I’ve heard.

Good that we’ll actually get to hear from him.

The OP raises a valid point. They are not in this for the long haul. and I do think that people are being taken in by their very slick PR. Their love of the Racecourse , town and club that was professed so emotionally during their visit, for me is a case of "me thinks they doth protest too much". We mustn't forget that they are top actors and most of what happens is documentary driven.

They are however an ideal fit for our current predicament, and I'm sure that at the root of their clever spin, they do have genuine affection for the club and big hopes for its future. When they decide to move on, they could leave us with very expensive players on long term contracts, but I hope that their managed withdrawal is more successful than the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. It certainly wouldn't suit their brand image to leave us in the lurch. An ideal long term transition would see them hand the club over to a syndicate of local and succesful interested parties, eg: Moneypenny, Ifor Williams, Wrexham lager, etc.

You would hope and maybe expect by the time they do sell up that our on and off pitch profile would attract other well intentioned rich investors rather than us having to get the begging bowl back out to local businessmen

McElhenney tweeted after the visit, reiterating that they are in it for the long haul.

Can see them being owners for 10+ years. They'll want to see the fruits of their labour, eg new Kop, training ground and a team that is competing in the upper echelons of the EFL. And if we get to the Championship, how could they leave being just one step away from the ultimate glory?

I also wonder if they'll invest in other sports teams in years to come. They could grow RR McReynolds to become a large sports investment vehicle, with a portfolio of teams.

The local investors I have named are pretty big fish.
