potentially a scouting game for either Hugill or McNeill to sign?

both are prolific at U21 level, though McNeill didnt do great on loan at Newport

United are playing Real Madrid on Thursday in Houston, so I should imagine that is where all first team and fringe players will be.

It was clear from the outset that it would be a youth team:

It was always advertised as the development squad.

The standard should be similar to a lower League 2 team.

Personally expect the standard to be quite high. Man U attract and take only the best prospects and I expect a really tough workout, similar to the Chelsea game.
Not bothered about losing, just hope Parky gets what he wants out of the game in the way of formations, work off the ball and finish the opportunities we create.

I believe we lost heavily to a similar development team last season @ Carrington - it'll be a lot tougher than L2 standard

I expect Man Utd to be more physical than Los Dos but not as experienced as the Chelsea XI.

Should be a good challenge, but some will complain about this or that. To be expected!

Christian Eriksen scored last year, Garnacho, Telles & Amad were also playing, that’s 4 premier league standard players. I don’t know who else played.

2 of the players in tonight’s squad played for Altrincham on loan this year. Also 1 player was on loan at Bolton. All good players but overall we should be beating them.

It was a mixer of first team and youth last year, in the 4-1 behind closed doors friendly. It was not a similar development team. Back four for example was Telles, Varane, Martinez and Laird. The side also include Eriksen, Garnacho and Diallo.

Not saying it will not be a good work out, cause they will have the best quality youth players, but not big named players, which American fans may have expected. Evans is not officially on United's books from what I read, just keeping fit and helping with the youth players.

Then as someone else said, "They are all there just to watch US".
