If I was a player being interviewed I'd be tempted to answer every question (statement) with "yeah, well said mate"
Got a standard list of a maximum 10 different questions.
Seem some other player / manager interviews that are miles better at this level.
I think he can only ask positive questions that all the club employees have been drilled how to answer.
On a footnote to that I saw a couple of Chelsea players interviewed after their mad game on Monday and they were like bumbling schoolkids !!

I get what people are saying about certain aspects of Mark's commentary such as the chat about non-match related things etc. However what I will say is that when he's "on it" I find his actual play-by-play description and speed of thought when describing on-field action to be really good. I think you either like his charming, lifelong, one of our own style or you don't.

As a club we're stuck in this strange position of having massive growth and worldwide recognition that comes with the need to level up across certain areas, however we also shouldn't lose the essence of what has made the club what it is over the years and for me, people like Mark are a big part of that and a big part of the transatlantic appeal we now enjoy. I agree with the eating on mic issues and yes, a bit more professionalism from a broadcast point of view wouldn't hurt. Could we get a bigger name commentator to do the games we pay to hear? Most probably, but as we say history only tells the story and Mark knows that story better than most.

Didn’t mind his commentary pre-takeover but it does seem his “enthusiasm” has gone up about 10 levels since to please a certain audience.

Not my cup of tea and will look for the opposition’s iFollow commentary when I’m not at the game. Some of the #askwxm stuff makes me cringe aswell.

TBH I don't mind him and being South Wales based have to listen to him quite a lot this year as its a lot harder now for members trying to get tickets, however, eating during the game has to stop. It's fine for a quick talking point as part of half time but there was at least one game this season where he couldn't commentate properly at the start of the second half as he was still chomping away on the snacks.

I don't have a problem with MG's commentary. I only need iFollow for some away games so not a regular viewer/listener. I expect club commentary to be biased for the club anyway. I usually disagree with some things football commentators say whoever they are. Radio Wales commentary used to wind me up much more. A lot of the complaints I see about Mark seem very over the top. Seriously, this is the best time Wrexham AFC have had for years, enjoy the ride and stop whinging.

As far as I remember, the first online game this season had different commentary and Mark was audio only. The fact he is now on every iFollow is because the club made a conscious decision that it is what the audience wants.

The club is global and that is the audience the club is looking at; the views of long term fans are not necessarily at the forefront of the club's mind. Further examples of that, IMO, are the failure of the club to announce the Goal of the Season for last season and award the Scholar of the Season.
I love a bit of TMS, and whilst there many things MG can take from it, eating food during game time isn't one of them. Have a word.

Is he now being paid for his work or is it still voluntary?

Whenever MG is brought up in a thread, people start criticising the manager interviews. Important to differentiate that MG doesn't do these so not sure why it's being discussed.

I too love TMS. But Cricket and football arent the same bag.

He can chat about what he wants at half time for all I care. Tasting food? Not a problem.

But whilst the game is on. I want you to be telling me whats happening on the pitch. Not eating pies. Especially if I'm paying £10 for the privilege.

Yes as in 'Back to square one' style.*

* For younger readers look up history of football commentary history.

As for food comments during games should he not bring in the expert , one - Mr Caws?
