Living a double life is hard, I completely understand if he needs to take a step back. We kind of saw that with Spencer on the way out too, it takes a toll.
I think Humphrey provides the translation from R&R to Parky and management team, and vice versa. He gets it right and that's why we are such a solid overall unit, and why replacing him adequately will be so vital, and probably so difficult.

Hope he can cope with the stresses and strains on his personal v business life for at least next season, and hopefully beyond. A very special human being. We are so lucky.

Next season will see considerable building on and off the pitch to see us through the next few years .

If you're going into next season with expectations of a top 2 or even top 6 finish , then you need to moderate those expectations a little

I know the park out mob will be waiting to punch all over that next season , as somer of them will settle for nothing les than winning every game , but that's the reality of the coming season
RnR are in it to win it, better get used to it.

As fans, I think the majority are a little more realistic and are hoping for a top 12 finish.

For clarification, I don't think they'll be happy aiming for 10th. Getting 10th will be more than a perfectly fine result, I just don't think that'll be the goal. I think they'd want to get into the championship within two years. My guess is that they will put a roster together that will be designed to give them a shot at getting into the playoffs and with a bit of luck maybe even get another promotion. Hopefully they'll be building their facilities and getting young players with potential with the eye of competing in the Championship in a few years. The thing they have going for them is that they are in a position to continue building infrastructure while most likely also having one of the higher wage bills in L1.

The (currently missing) infrastructure will be as much essential to long-term progression as flashing the chequebook season on season.

It's far more important. There's only so long you can outspend other teams in the league to get promoted. League One is most likely where that strategy ends.

It'll be top training facilities, a productive academy and savvy recruitment that will be the key factors in us progressing much further. Luckily I think the owners realise that.

Stevenage finished 9th, I don’t see it as impossible that we could better that. I am sure many Ipswich fans would have taken 10th at the start of the season.

Correct! We also need a stadium that is capable of producing non matchday income as the current FFP in the Championship is maximum losses of £39m over 3 seasons.

I recently read an article about QPR losing £350k a week and their CEO was stressing how much they're in need of a new ground due to Loftus Road being old and having no facilities that can be used in terms of offices, limited parking etc. The cost of policing due to the local area and stadium design. Obviously being in London is more costly.
