I have emailed the Welsh FA to see if they have more information on John Taylor, but they have not responded; possibly because he was convicted of embezzlement (although not in his football role). Last edited by eastsussexred; 17th August 2016 at 12.17:58.. |

Re: The sad case of a founding members and player of Wrexham Football Club
Attached are 3 No survey plans of The Racecourse over the years. The first (1874) shows just the Mold Road corner of the course, with just the MRS original stand and the Turf Hotel with the start/finish post directly opposite on the course. The second (1899) shows the entire ground with additional miltary buildings off Crispin Lane and what looks like possible terracing to the plas coch end and along the Mold Road Stand and possibly a bowling green. The third (1912) shows an additional stand on the Yale (ERS) and bowling green (458) the ground is also banked at the crispen Lane end. The fourth (1937) shows the the old angled stand at the side of the MRS and the plas coch (techend stand) joined to the Yale ERS stand with terracing at the far end, and terracing to the Crispen Lane End with steps down the middle. Therefore, The Yale stand must have been built between 1899 and 1912

My information re the Canadian match came from a press cutting : London Standard - Tues 22nd September 1891.. I believe that the match was played on 21st Sept ( Monday ?). Not sure if that helps ,,,, or hinders. |

Thanks Inside Left. I would hope that people would add to this post as a kind of information gathering place, where events and details about the history of the club can be brought together, as there always seems to be more to find out
