I am going against the flow here . I wasn't at Saturdays game but will be at Maidenhead . I have always rated Carrington . I think he is a player who is probably highly rated by his teammates as he covers , back tracks , makes simple passes and seldom gives the ball away . Every manager seems to keep him so they can't all be wrong . He never moans , regularly plays different roles and in my opinion , he is still a good footballer

He played well in every pre season friendly that I saw him feature in.

Him and Rutherford I was hoping were signed for cover only. If they are regular starters I will begin to question Keates on his tactics.

I hope im wrong but I get the feeling he wants to play Carrington because he`s more defensive minded, than say wright , I still cant see a play maker in this side , where is our Fowler

Kelly is the nearest I'd say, provided he's played centrally.

For me it was obvious that 15 minutes into the game that we where being over run in midfield and yet nothing was done about it. What worries me is that even with Darlington it was the lack of tactical awareness and unwillingness to change the formation.

This is the one major question mark over Keates, is he tactically astute enough to be able to get the best out of the players he has got. He needs to mould the individuals into a team which will take time, but he also needs to recognise when to change things and to be able to adapt during the game to counter what the other team are doing.
