Default Scott Boden

I'll probably get slated for this but imho he has the best first touch of all the strikers. The lad's confidence must be on the floor when two loan players are above him in the pecking order, one of those has bags of confidence but little else- bless him.The other is quite the opposite and just can't be arsed at this time. Now back to Boden if he's not match fit why? How many 90 minutes has he had? If he can't get in the team because of this why has he not gone out on loan to get match fit?He definitely won't get any better sitting it out on the bench every week.I think if we try to play less hoof ball like we did Saturday hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself.Answers/opinions appreciated.

Watching the game on Saturday I felt the same way more football and less hoof ball will suit him.

Trouble is if he's not up to speed he'll get slated on here for being sh-t.

I thought he looked OK in his brief appearance at Chester. He must be due more of a run out.

Yesterday I thought we limited 'hoofball' to minimal.

We played much better than we have for weeks - much passing on the floor and building from the back.

Who is the better option to play up front with Holroyd who is head and shoulders above the others ?

Reid seems to get his fair share of opportunities but is continually very poor.

Massanka replaced him yesterday and for 20 minutes did everything Reid didn't - he chased everything until the end and fought for every ball.

Boden has the best first touch of all the strikers and has had opportunities to stake a claim but it's not worked for him - he seems to lack strength but in fairness when he came on at Chester did well and helped to relieve the pressure on the defence.

Not forgetting that DK see's the strikers every time they train and so, along with the coaching staff forms a judgement of who best to play.

We cannot afford to loan out Boden - we don't have a deep enough squad with only two contracted strikers and two loanees.

On his sub showing yesterday Massanka deserves to start on Tuesday night.
He looks the best option -he did more in one minute than Reid did all afternoon.

Boden may get his opportunities again but needs to step up to the plate - FA Trophy and a busy Christmas period coming up - it's up to Massanka, Reid and Boden to claim that shirt as their own - but so far none of them have.

Reid didnt look interested Saturday one bit never chased down anything, can go now waste of space. No one clapped him when subbed.Hopefully if we start playing more football instead of hoofball should suit boden better convinced he is decent finisher, watch him in warm up best finisher we have just needs better service. In boden we trust.

Just because Reid and Massanka are not delivering the goods, doesn’t mean that we should see Boden as the Messiah. I have been disappointed with Boden on the few times I have seen him. I cannot name his strengths, basically because I have not witnessed any. I feel his lack of physicality annoys me most. He holds the line like a paper bag!
This thread was designed to brag him up - it won’t work on me. A thread designed to depress and going nowhere.

Obviously last in the DK pecking order. Massanka seems to offer more which in itself is a worrying sign. Apparently not fit yet!!!!!!!

Let's see what DK does with him in Jan. For me he offers very little.

Think keates has been saving him for 2nd part of season bit of a secret weapon, lets hope so. Could do with him chipping in with a few goals soon.
