This unfortunately is the point I was making about doing transfer business in January it isn't easy. All those fretting we hadn't signed anyone as if Keates wasn't interested I don't envy him, we see ourselves as a big club but players see us as a non league club the majority not even remembering us as a league club, the longer we remain down here the harder each season will get.

Still it is only mid Jan I'm sure more players will become available we just have to be patient.

All valid points. Some people seem under the impression that Keates is sat there twiddling his thumbs whereas it seems like a lot of work is going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately it's a very competitive time and all the power lies with the players (and their agents). Keates seems very tenacious when he's after players once they are identified and although a lot of pur targets won't pan out in confident we'll do everyrhing in our power to strengthen the squad. There are just no guarantees unfortunately.

Pressure is on though. That not paying the agents fee in the summer might really come back too bite us on the ass

It might his lack of experience showed their he was a bit naive and it also shows he has a stubborn side, but hey he's on a learning curve he is bound to make mistakes, plenty of players out there I'm sure at the end of the window players options become less where as at the moment they can hold out for the best deal that's what agents will be telling them.

Let’s not forget the failure to land targets in the summer has led DK to this situation now.

So in some respects he’s made his bed

It was interesting to see that list a few years ago about agents fees. Mills spent loads (shocking when you consider the load of crap he signed) but then managers like Gary Whaddock hadnt, and it hadn't seemed to hurt Aldershot too much. I wouldnt want us to waste money but it does seem like hes relaxed his stance a bit.

Can you remind us. Genuinely. I’ve forgotten who he failed to sign.

He certainly has! 3 points of 2nd with a game in hand, what a bed.

I cant believe the shit I read on here sometimes, If hes looking at bidding on players hes in a different ball game to the likes of Mills signing utter shite on a free because he paid his mates to much. I prefer the situation we are in now to any of the past few years.
