Would you include captain Pearson as a whinger too? Interesting his quote in today's leaďer whilst accepting faults from the players he says the club need to get tougher as a whole...Wonder what he means by that?

A good point. Some seem to forget that non trust boards also make mistakes on a regular basis.

Sounds like a rallying call rather than a Moan.

The turn over in managers has been pretty high this year. All must have been poor appointments?

48 changes in clubs.

It has been obvious since January that we were on the slide yes unbeaten but rarely winning, the team has been to reliant on the defence no team that's in the bottom 4 clubs for goals scored is ever going to get promoted, so if Keates hadn't left I have my doubts we would of finished in the play offs as the other teams around us had sussed us out and had strengthened their side throughout the season, our ex manager wasn't good enough in the transfer market due to inexperience, the hullabaloo over wanting a player but then realising he had an agent who wanted his cut is a perfect example.

Sorry the buck lies with Keates not the board they and us fans backed him with BTB and he wasted it.

Does anyone know what sort of pay off we got for Keates?
I presume that the board would have protected our position with an exit clause.
I spite of some of the dire football this season I had consoled myself with the fact that Keates was working on a longer term plan, building the team from the back, making us harder to beat etc. etc. Now we are back to square one - no manager, out of the play offs and a good percentage of last years' squad already packing their bags for elsewhere.
At least can the board show some ambition in using whatever financial gain received from Walsall and spend it rather than just use it to maintain survival mode in non-league football.
Build the Budget will soon be upon us. I think we could all do with some leadership initiative from the board to re-inspire us all.

Think it was about £70k. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Not a bad chunk, at least we had the forward thinking to plan for this. In the past, we'd have let him go for pennies.

Apparently it was DK annual salary as per the clause in his contract. However if we sacked him we would only have to pay 3 months wages.
